David Cassells was born and brought up in Belfast until the age of twenty-one, when he began attending the Bible Training Institute in Glasgow, Scotland. Following this he took up the position of Assistant Superintendent of the Tent Hall, which had been started by the evangelist Jock Troup in Glasgow city centre. This led to a work beginning, known as the Jock Troup Memorial Church, which was latterly called the Scottish Reformed Church at which Mr Cassells was Pastor for twenty-five years. Following this he began a pioneer work in Stewarton, Ayrshire which after five years he has recently moved from. |
He is now the Pastor at Ebenezer Strict Baptist Chapel in Chelmsford, England. His ministry has included preaching extensively in the USA and in the Far East as well as nearer home in the Mainland and Northern Ireland. He has a keen interest in missionary work and has been a committee member of the European Missionary Fellowship for some time, recently conducting lectures at their Bible Seminary. The newly formed Institute of Biblical Studies in London has appreciated his teaching over the last six months, which he hopes to continue in the future. Mr Cassells has been married to Isobel for the last 30 years. They have four children and three grandchildren.
